1. Those who are in position of test scores of 7.0 in all segments of IELTS are the lucky ones as Australian Nursing & Midwifery Board accepts applications for assessment, only from those IENs who have achieved the said score apart from meeting other requirements.

They also must have post registration work experience as R.N and a valid registration in their home country or in the country where the training was completed.

After receiving a favorable assessment report from the Australian Nursing Council, IENs are accepted for registration programmes at various Universities in Australia. It’s a 3 months programme consisting of theoretical as well as clinical components, with the aim of preparing IENs able to work in Australian health care settings, especially in hospitals.

Normally students start attending employer interviews immediately after completing the theoretical part of the programme and offers are secured from various potential employers towards the successful completion of the course. Once registration formalities are completed graduates will qualify to practice in Australia as Registered Nurses.


 Australian Registered Nurse Training Programme (ARNTP)


This programme is aimed to prepare registered IENs those who choose a little longer route than the normal registration programme available with other Australian Universities. It’s a 6 months long full time programme prepares internationally educated nurses with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to meet the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) Competency Standards for the registered nurse.

Any IEN with a current effective registration with the relevant Nurse's Registration Authority in own country or place of residence; and diploma or degree in Nursing (minimum of 3 years full-time study) commensurate with the standard of nurse preparation required to register in Australia; and a minimum of 2 years work experience with 12 months recent practice (within the last 2 years) as a Registered Nurse in country of practice are eligible for this programme.

Successful course completion leads to registration with the Australian Nurses and Midwifery board as a Registered Nurse.


 Direct entry to 2nd year Bachelor Degree in Nursing for IENs


IENs with a GNM Diploma / BSc Degree in Nursing have the option of getting admitted directly in to the 2nd year Bachelor Degree of Nursing in an Australian University.

Successful completion of the course leads to an Australian Bachelor Degree in Nursing and most importantly graduates qualify for registration with Australian Nursing and Midwifery board as a Registered Nurse.

Those who enroll after November 2011 will be eligible a for stay back work visa for another two years on course completion, as per the recent Australian Immigration law changes.
