About CRNE
This examination can only be written in Canada, that too on the recommendation of one of the provincial or territorial Nursing assessment authorities. A foreign educated nurse can write this examination 3 times in a life time. After 2 unsuccessful appearances the applicants have to do refresher programs suggested by the assessment authorities before sitting the exam at the third and final time.
Health Care Settings where nurses can work in Canada
The majority of nurses work within the publicly funded sector of health care. A minority works in the private sector, and a small number of nurses are self-employed. Because health is a provincial jurisdictional area, the health care delivery system is not centralized and there is no one place where nurses can apply for work. They must apply directly to individual employers.
