New Zealand is an immigration-friendly country with a shortage of skilled professionals. Those who have graduated from NZ are considered as most suitable migrants as they are New Zealand-qualified with good English language skills and NZ living experience. Students who have completed a two year programme at level 5 and above will enable international students for the Graduate open work permit / Job search / stay back visa for a period of at least one year, mainly to gain work experience in New Zealand.

International students who have successfully completed an eligible programme - the qualification should gain points under Skilled Migrant Category - at an accredited education provider in NZ, are eligible for 1 year Job search visa under the above scheme without any job offer.
Further two year work permit could be obtained if able to secure a job offer relevant to the qualification gained in New Zealand, within the 12 months period of job search visa and that eventually leads to the eligibility for Permanent Residency in New Zealand.
