Diploma in Advanced Hotel Management is offered in cooperation with the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH). The qualification is endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality, the world’s leading membership body for managers in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries. This course is designed to follow on from the Diploma in Hotel Management.
During your studies, students will gain an understanding of the managerial, decision making and leadership aspects of the international hotel industry. The Level 6 course is also designed to develop independent research and study skills which will be required when working at senior managerial level in the industry. The training combines theory studies with practical workshops, guest lectures and field trips. In order to further enhance the student training training, the education provider also assist students with finding a work placement in an international hotel or resort.
Upon completion of the diploma, students gain a New Zealand (NZQA) qualification, as well as a British qualification. This qualification is equivalent to the second year of a British Bachelor’s Degree, giving students the opportunity to apply for direct entry into the third year of the Bachelor’s Degree at a number of universities around the globe.

Those of you seeking aviation as a career must have a Commercial Pilot License. This entitles you to work legally as a pilot, and to be paid for the work you do. The CPL follows on from your Private Pilot License.
For aero plane students, this course includes the minimum flight time required by the CAA of 150 flying hours in a single-engine aircraft over and above PPL, therefore 200 in total, 100 of which must be solo. This includes 10 hours simulated instrument flying and a cross-country component. For helicopter students, this course includes 100 hours flight time over and PPL, therefore 150 in total, 50 of which must be solo. This includes 10 hours simulated instrument flying and a cross-country component.

A Private Pilot License (PPL) is the first stage of your flying. The holder of a PPL is entitled to carry passengers and can fly more-or-less anywhere within New Zealand. With a PPL, you can take your family or friends off for a weekend away, go for a scenic flight around your local area, or just go flying for the pure enjoyment of it. If you're interested in a flying career, a Private Pilot License is the best way of beginning.
This course includes the minimum flight time required by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of 50 flying hours in a single-engine aircraft (15 of which must be solo). As well as basic flying manoeuvres, students will also complete a cross country syllabus.
