Higher education system and foreign students

International students are accepted to study in universities, academies and institutions which have special licenses to teach foreign students, obtained from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Bachelor’s degree is awarded after successful completion of 4 academic years and a specialist degree after five years of study in an approved Ukraine University. Specialist Degree / Diploma are the most popular qualification in Ukraine and Master’s degree is awarded after 5-6 years of study.

International students have the option of studying in Russian / Ukraine language or in English. An extra one year preparatory study should be completed for foreign students to be accepted for the main course. Hence majority of international students prefer to study in English medium so that the total duration of the programme also is reduced by one year. After all 4 students will be speaking the local language after 4 years of living in the country..

Qualifications

Ukraine is an active member country of Bologna process and the hence the qualifications are accepted in all over the 50 member countries in Europe. Bologna Process members use to follow the same education system which is similar to the existing system of UK and other European counties and USA.
