Resource-Efficient Production and Lightweight Structures

The university excels in research on Resource-Efficient Production and Lightweight Structures, notably through the MERGE research cluster, which stemmed from the federal excellence cluster MERGE.

MERGE contributes to unique European projects like InnoCarbEnergy, aiming to develop “green” carbon fibers in Lusatia and the trilateral CircEcon campus focusing on efficient circular and bioeconomies.

Additionally, the KETEC platform, funded by the BMBF with ā‚¬15 million, will research new refrigerants and storage solutions, advancing energy transition efforts and fortifying the university’s presence in Reichenbach.
