APS India update on two more dMAT test sessions

Who may need the Digital Master Test
The dMAT is a standardised academic aptitude test for Master’s applicants. g.a.s.t. administers it; APS India checks academic documents. The test adds an aptitude result to the APS process.
For selected fields, the requirement applies to summer semester 2027 and later Master’s intakes, subject to exemptions. APS says updated field details will follow. Check your previous degree with APS rather than treating every Indian applicant as affected.
The older APS field list is labelled Version 1.0, dated 29 June 2026. It describes Engineering, Commerce/Accounting/Finance/Economics, and Business/Management groups. Its classification depends on official academic documents. Read it alongside the latest APS notice while awaiting the update.
APS India update on transitional exemptions
For the same APS procedure, a transitional exemption applies if you completed APS online registration before 29 June 2026 OR dispatched the complete application documents before that date. Keep evidence. A later, new APS application follows the rules then in force.
Already received your APS certificate? The provider confirms that completed APS procedures do not require a retrospective dMAT. It also says a September 2026 dMAT result remains valid for winter 2027.
Prepare your APS documents while waiting for booking details
Affected applicants may send their APS documents before the dMAT certificate is available. APS can begin verification, but final certification waits for the required test report to be checked.
What this APS India update means for document submission
The later-submission allowance covers the dMAT certificate only. All required academic qualification documents belong in the initial submission; you cannot add updated academic qualifications with the test certificate in the same procedure.
Use the official checklist for your procedure and complete its authorisation form. Do not send original documents unless APS requests them. If your academic stage is unfinished, read APS’s separate guidance on completed qualifications before submitting.
How to prepare for the next dMAT sessions
Get ready for official registration
Registration and centre selection take place through g.a.s.t. A valid passport is required. Enter your name exactly as it appears there and provide the required identity photograph. The booking page gives the participation fee and session deadline.
The provider currently lists PayPal and Mastercard/Visa credit cards enabled for 3D Secure. Debit cards are not accepted. Check the instructions shown when booking your session.
Use the official dMAT practice materials
The APS route uses a Core Module and the General Academic Module. The Core Module includes figure sequences, mathematical equations and Latin squares. Work through the official instructions, sample questions and solutions before using the practice software.
The preparation booklet explains that the test assesses reasoning and the application of knowledge. Its instructions prohibit note-taking during the exam. Practise under those conditions and review the provider’s screen demonstrations before test day.
A useful practice routine is to finish a short set, check the explanation and repeat the type you found difficult. Keep a record of mistakes during preparation so you can see what needs attention.
