SPP 1629: THYROID TRANS ACT – Translation of Thyroid Hormone Actions beyond Classical Concepts

The primary objective of this Project is to address the inquiry into the fundamental characteristics that distinguish between a healthy and a pathological thyroid function. In order to achieve this objective, the study will analyze the effects of thyroid hormones (TH), including T4 and T3, as well as newly discovered endogenous derivatives of thyroid hormone (TH) such as T2 and thyronamines (derived from “T4-T0”). The Priority Programme aims to develop a network and facilitate coordination among prominent thyroid research institutes and institutions in Germany.

DFG Priority Program 1420 Biomimetic Materials Research: Functionality by Hierarchical Structuring of Materials
