How to study in public universities in Germany for free

Knowing how to study at public universities in Germany for free is very simple!

Most public universities in Germany offer their courses for free, regardless of whether you apply. Not even a scholarship was awarded based on the excellent grades you received in prior coursework or a helping hand. Instead, they adhere to the philosophy and belief that “education is invaluable.”

  • Choose a public university in Germany that doesn’t charge tuition to take your preferred course there.
  • Decide to take a free foundation course at a studienkolleg supported by the government state-funded.
  • While waiting for the admission and visa processing to be finished, begin learning German and make as much progress as you can.
  • Select a language school where you can pay the lowest tuition rates possible for German by paying monthly as you advance.
  • If allowed and convenient for you, start working a part-time job while enrolled in the language school to help pay the monthly fees and advance in your language study.

How much does it cost to study at public universities in Germany for a bachelor’s degree?

  • If you have been accepted to a public university in Germany where there are no tuition costs, you should consider the expense of doing a foundation course.
  • You are not required to pay tuition if you plan to enroll in a foundation course at a studienkolleg supported by the government. You should then think about your German language proficiency and the cost of learning it.
  • It would be your best interest to begin learning German in your own country if you choose to pursue an undergraduate degree in Germany.
  • It only costs 10,000.INR+ taxes per month to begin learning the language at a KCR training center, which has locations in Chennai and Trivandrum.
  • Look for a cheap course that costs no more than 310.EUR per month for each half-level if you need to learn German in Germany.
  • You might be able to cover this amount on your own if you work part-time while taking your language course.

Eligibility to study in public universities in Germany

The standard entry criteria for undergraduate studies in Germany are a higher secondary school diploma with at least 50% of the required marks. Assuming the applicant successfully completes an aptitude test, such as the German TestAs or the Indian JEE exam.

One can choose the core subjects based on the subject areas in the 12th-grade school education or the course they desire to pursue in Germany because TestAs has several exam centers in India.

According to general knowledge, those who are good at studying and get a school board exam score of at least 60% are eligible to take the TestAS aptitude examination.

How much percentage is required to study public universities in Germany?

For postgraduate degree programmes, German public universities accept fresh student applications with a minimum bachelor’s grade point average of 50%. Conversely, applicants for English-taught courses face fierce competition from qualified students all around the world.

Since German universities uphold an equitable admissions policy, they accept applicants on the basis of merit by giving preference to those who received a greater proportion of marks on their bachelor’s degree exams.

The proportion needed to study in Germany in English is still at least 70% in order to be eligible to apply.

In order to retain nationality in the classroom, a class may accept three or four pupils from a nation like India per intake.

Please take note that while 85% of courses are taught in German, only 15% are provided in English! This means that the likelihood of acceptance to a programme taught in German is much higher than that of an English-taught one.

If you are reading this, you are sincerely interested in studying at a German university!

I wouldn’t prefer to make a statement as it is your choice and determination. If you are undeterred about getting into a public university in Germany, you just need to get in touch with KCR CONSULTANTS.
